Mom and I flew to Richmond Virginia this May to join in an impromptu reunion of some of the Pharm.D. alumni from the Medical College of Virginia (now known as the Medical Campus of Virginia Commonwealth University). What started out as a idea to have a few friends meet in Richmond to celebrate the retirement of one of our esteemed professors, William Garnett, Pharm.D., turned into a fun filled weekend of reminiscing for about 30 of us.
We managed to find our way to the Barboursville Vineyards near Charlottesville with some of our close friends, Mark, Gayle, Deb, and Ken. We tasted some great wines and had a lovely four-course lunch at the Palladio Restaurant. Their Octagon was my favorite wine. It is a blend of Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon and Petit Verdot varietal. Quite delicious! We had a case sent to the house.
